A Straightforward Process
When I meet new perspective clients, they are often curious about how I get paid. First, I am a fee only investment advisor which means I am paid fees for services provided. I do not accept commissions or have any other source of income. Second, should we work together, all fees are disclosed in our initial client agreement. These fees are transparent which means you can see them deducted from your investment account or a flat payment is submitted for planning and consulting clients. There is never any guesswork as to how much I am paid which you can then weigh against the value I am providing.
I work with clients in two ways. The majority of my clients have resources they want me to manage and utilize my Fiduciary Investment Management services. For these clients I take a percentage of assets each quarter which can be stopped at any time. The amount is based on the work I will do for that specific client and there are no additional fees for planning. There are generally no additional fees charged by me. My minimum relationship size for the Fiduciary Investment Management service is $1 million.
I also have clients who only utilize my planning or consulting services. For these clients, we outline the scope of work and agree on the payment amount. There is no minimum investment size for this service.
All fees are agreed upon in advance and there are no hidden fees. Client investment reports will show client performance after fees so clients can understand the real return they are receiving.
